Hello! I’m glad you’re here.
I currently live in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas with my love, Sean, and our wonderful son, Ethan. We also have two extraordinary adult daughters — Anna and Natalie — and recently gained a son in Natalie’s husband, Jesse. For the first third of my life, I lived in Louisville, Kentucky before moving to Northern Virginia in 2016.
For almost a decade, I served in vocational ministry positions in the DC metro area where I provided leadership for family ministries and counseling services for members and non-members. I’ve also worked as a proofreading editor and as a TA. Before that, I worked in a variety of creative positions that have a common denominator of helping people.
Having the posture of a learner is an important part of my life, so I enjoy listening, reading, and being open to the unexpected. I find the answer to most conundrums ends up being “it’s both,” and hearing a different perspective feels like discovering lost treasure. The most consistently read book in my life is the Psalms, and I have a laundry list of favorite books. Coffee is my first love and Earl Grey Crème is my mistress. I pretty much always smell like patchouli, lavender, and bergamot. In 2016 I finally grew a green-ish thumb and now greatly enjoy my small variety of house plants.
